MP PRAISES OUTSTANDING SERVICE OF OUTGOING NORTH KENT POLICE CHIEF

Date: Tue 16th July 2013

Gareth Johnson made the comments following the announcement that Chief Superintendant Neil Jerome will be moving to a new position within Kent Police. His place will be taken by Matthew Nix, previously the Chief Superintendent of Kent Police’s west division until May this year.
Speaking about the announcement, Gareth said:
“Neil Jerome has been a first class Chief Superintendent and a strong local policing figure. I have worked closely with him since his appointment and have always respected the professionalism and determination that he brought to the role. His help in trying to bring the killer of Claire Tiltman to justice has been of enormous benefit. Neil was born in Dartford and has worked in the North Kent Police area for many years. He therefore had a strong affinity for Dartford and it is a pity to lose him.
Matthew Nix comes to the area with a good reputation and I am sure will rise to the challenge and ensure that the reduction in crime that we have seen locally continues. I look forward to working with him.”
Matthew Nix will take over from Neil Jerome and will be responsible for running the North Kent division of Kent’s Police Force.
