Having campaigned and appealed to Kent County Council to keep the Limes and Manorbrooke care homes open, today MP Gareth Johnson raised their imminent closure in the chamber of the House of Commons to try and secure a debate on the issue.
Gareth raised the issue in the House of Commons Chamber with the Leader of the House of Commons, Sir George Young
Gareth said: “These care homes are relied upon by many of my constituents. The prospect of their imminent closure has been met with dismay by everyone in Dartford that I have spoken to about this issue. I am extremely concerned for the future of care home provision in Dartford and so I decided to raise the issue on the floor of the House of Commons. I hope that even at this late stage that an alternative to closure can be found” .
