Commenting on the awards, Robert Goodman, Bluewater’s General Manager, said on behalf of The Learning Shop’s partners: “Each year we recognise companies and individuals that have made an exceptional difference to others through The Learning Shop, or who are an inspiration to everyone seeking a career within the retail and hospitality industry. These awards, however, are particularly special as they coincide with our fifteenth anniversary, which is celebrating the people and community that make Bluewater so successful.”
“The Learning Shop has made a huge difference to tens of thousands of people since 1999. The key to its success is the partnership that exists between Bluewater, North West Kent College, JobCentre Plus, our retailers and the wider community. This is a very proud day for everyone involved either individually or as a team. We look forward to what we can achieve in the next fifteen years.”
Gareth Johnson MP for Dartford added: “Firstly I would like to congratulate everyone who has won an award, from the individuals, to Bluewater’s retailers and restaurants. Their commitment, hard work and success are an example to us all and I am proud to be part of this ceremony.
“Thank you to all the partners involved too; your combined efforts make a real difference to the community, which is why The Bluewater Learning Shop is used as an example by the government on a national level.”
