MP Gareth Johnson is looking for people who have stories, letters, artefacts or photos relating to World War One.
As part of the centenary commemorations to mark the war years between 1914 and 1918, Mr Johnson and the Greenhithe Royal British Legion are putting together an educational booklet for primary school children in his constituency.
The aim to is to produce a booklet with information about life in Dartford during the war years, including stories about soldiers going to war, people who stayed at home, businesses in the area, hospitals looking after the injured and how the lives of children were affected.
Gareth Johnson said: “We are looking to create a booklet full of stories and pictures with the aim of showing pupils what wartime life was like. If anyone has personal stories to tell, including letters or photos of their family-members during the war years we would love to see them with the possibility of using them in our booklet. I am working with the RBL to create a resource which will be really interesting to children, even more so because it will be about life in the town they live in.”
If you have any WW1 information you would like to share with us, please email: Gareth.email@example.com or phone 020 7219 5532.
