Dartford’s annual festival was a huge success at the weekend with thousands of people enjoying the music, attractions and entertainment. As well as big-name bands including The Feeling, the festival had a fun fair, stalls offering various activities and community groups including Dartford Cricket Club and Dartford Valley Rugby Club, showing people what is on offer in and around the town. It was one of the best attended Dartford Festival’s I can remember and thanks to the good weather, it was packed on both days. On Saturday I had my regular stall and it was great to speak to so many people from all over the constituency who came to talk to me about various issues affecting them. It is at events like this, where people of all ages come out to join in the fun, that you see the true community spirit of a town. In Dartford we are lucky to have such a wonderful Central Park where everyone can come together and the atmosphere over the weekend was fantastic. As a proud Dartfordian I think this is one of the best free festivals in the south east and I would personally like to thank those responsible for organising it as I know how much hard work goes into it. This event is yet another illustration of our strong sense of community spirit.
