Last weekend thousands of people from across Dartford and beyond came together to enjoy the town’s annual festival.
The Dartford Festival is a free event held over two days and enjoyed by people and families from around the local area. Hosted in the beautiful surroundings of Central Park, the festival showcases many groups and organisations based in the area.
As in previous years, there was a huge variety of entertainment on the two stages including musicians, bands and tribute acts as well as a showcase of local talent.
The park was filled with stalls and attractions from a wide range of charities, groups and business coming together to not only show off what they do but also support the event.
What is really remarkable is that this event is completely free and open to all to enjoy the weekend’s festivities. Even the weather was mostly kind this year!
On Saturday I hosted a stall, giving people the opportunity to come and meet me and talk to me about any issues they may have. It is always a good opportunity to meet people from all around the area and discuss both local and national issues.
Dartford has hosted this event for many years and its ongoing success is down to the hard work of the organisers and people who give up their time to take part. Like every other year I throughly enjoyed the weekend and it’s is really satisfying to see so many people turning out to support such a successful town event.
