Charity cricket game, everyone welcome

Date: Fri 27th May 2011

On Sunday 12th June at Hesketh Park I am hosting a charity cricket game to commemorate the 90th Anniversary of the Royal British Legion. The event will see a team of local public figures take on Dartford Cricket Club. Several local businesses and organisations have kindly given their support for this event which will help raise funds for ex-servicemen.

Dartford Cricket Club is one of the oldest clubs in the country which provides valuable support for local community groups and recreation for young and old. It is a great local facility for the area which is currently looking for new players to join either their adult or youth sides. The club is enthusiastically supporting the charity game which will commence with a moments silence to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in serving our country.

In the ninety years since the British Legion was created it has helped thousands of serving and ex service personnel and their families. It is now one of the UK’s largest membership organisations. This cricket game will be an enjoyable event for all involved but the serious side to it is that it will help to ensure that the Legion continues its fantastic work.

The game itself begins at about 11.30am so if you would like to come along and show your support for both the club and the British Legion then you will be very welcome.
