I have vigorously campaigned on the issue of Property Management Companies in Parliament on behalf of constituents in Dartford who have contacted me about inflated fees and poor services. I am therefore delighted with the announcement in the King's Speech that a law is to be introduced to stop householders being exploited by punitive charges.
The Leasehold and Freehold Bill will tackle 'the exploitation of millions of homeowners through punitive service charges'.
This news will be welcomed by thousands of people in Dartford who are paying huge sums of money to management companies, with little or no say on how these companies are run or what their money is spent on.
