DARTFORD MP Gareth Johnson has secured a debate in the House of Commons next week to discuss the ongoing problems at the Dartford Crossing.
The Westminster Hall debate is on Wednesday, January 13 at 4pm.
Mr Johnson said: “I am really pleased to have secured this Westminster Hall debate to raise the ongoing congestion problems at Dartford Crossing.
The congestion at the Dartford Crossing is the biggest issue affecting transportation in the area and is Britain’s worst stretch of road. I know the petition to get an independent investigation into the new layout at the crossing has 16,500 signatures – a huge number – but quite a way off the 100,000 needed for the Government to consider to holding a debate.
I don’t think people want to wait until that 100,000 mark is reached and I have therefore secured this debate now. There are growing concerns about the traffic problems which are worsening, not improving. This debate will give me the chance to raise the issue in the House of Commons with the Roads Minister.”
